Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics is the study of formulation of Dosage forms with relation to optimum delivery, disposition, including a safe and efficient clinical response. It is a major specialization in pharmacy course which gives a thorough insight on manufacturing, storage, utilization, preservation, and pharmacokinetics aspects of drug products. It details all the core area from preformulation, pilot studies, scale up and manufacture, evaluation, labeling and packaging etc., till the entry of new chemical entity NCE/ NDA/ANDA into the market. It also deals with various advancements in pharmaceutics including novel drug delivery systems. Fields like Intellectual property management is also covered under pharmaceutics.

Laboratory

In Karpagam College of Pharmacy the department of pharmaceutics is well equipped with post graduate research laboratories and an undergraduate laboratory. It also includes a Machine room having all the essential equipments especially a multistation compression machine for carrying out research activities on pilot scale.
