STAFF ACTIVITIES

  • Three of our teaching staff (Mr. B. Lakshmi Narayanan, Mr. C. Balakumar and Mr. N. Satheesh Babu) have participated in the AICTE sponsored National Seminar on "Advances in Traditional Drug Discovery and Clinical Drug Evaluation" organized by the Department of Pharmacology, RVS College of pharmaceutical Sciences, Coimbatore during 11th -12th July, 2011. The eminent speakers from various educational institutions (Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sri Padmavati Mahila Vishva Vidhyalayam and PSG College of Pharmacy) and Pharmaceutical Industries (Orchid Health Care, Advinus Therapeutics Ltd, Himalaya Drug Company) have delivered their talk in the field of Modern Drug Discovery in correlation with Traditional Herbal Drugs and their clinical evaluation. Our staff members were motivated to carryout various research projects in unexplored/growing areas of drug discovery and development of potential applications in therapy. The two days of conference was ended with the valedictory note the development of safe and efficacious drug discovery is of primary importance in health care system.
  • Dr E.P.Kumar , Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology, participated in the Orientation programme on " Emerging Trends in Pharmaceutical Analytical Methods" held at Karpagam University, Coimbatore from September 4th -5th 2009.
  • Dr E.P.Kumar, Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology delivered a talk on "use of Laboratory Animals in Biomedical Research' on 15th March, 2010 at Refresher Course in Zoology conducted by UGC Academic Staff College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
  • Dr E.P.Kumar , Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology participated as a Co- Chairman in the 2nd Annual Research Congress KUARC 2010 held at Karpagam University, Coimbatore from December 8th -11th 2010.
  • Dr E. P. Kumar , Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology delivered a guest lecture at National level seminar on " Application of Pharmacogenomics in Clinical Pharmacology" held at Padmavathi College of Pharmacy & n Research Institute, Dharmapuri organized by IPGA Welfare Trust & The TN Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai on 20th January 2011.
  • Dr E. P. Kumar, Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology participated as a resource person at ICMR sponsored National level seminar on " Advances in Traditional drug discovery and Clinical drug evaluation" held at R.V.S College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Coimbatore from 17-18th February 2011.
  • Dr E. P. Kumar , Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology delivered a guest lecture at The TN Dr M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai sponsored CME Activity on " Basic concepts in Phamaceutical Techniques ( Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical analysis)" held at Cherraan's College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore on 6th April 2011.
  • Dr E. P. Kumar, Professor & Head, Dept of Pharmacology delivered a guest lecture at AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Program on "Recent Advances in New Drug Development & Quality Control" at Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy, Tiruchengodu on 16-07-113.
  • Our faculties (Mr. L. A. Pradeep Rajkumar, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacology and Miss.S. T. Sathya Meonah, PhD Scholar, Karpagam University) have participated and presented posters in the "INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM FOR THIN LAYER CHROMATOGRAPHY" held in Basel, Switzerland on 6th- 8 th July 2011, funded by ICMR and DST, Govt. of India for travel assistance and visa, Registration was sponsored by Anchrom enterprises, Mumbai. The eminent speakers from various educational institutions, R & D's and Pharmaceutical Industries from various countries like Germany, USA, Portugal, England, Canada delivered their talk in the field of Modern HPTLC Techniques, current Scenario and importance of using HPTLC Techniques in modern medicine. Our faculties were motivated to carryout various research projects in unexplored/growing areas of HPTLC Techniques. The three day conference ended with the valedictory note. They arranged a visit to CAMAG, NOVARTIS during the conference.
