Pharmaceutics is a science of delivering Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient or Biologically Active Compound (originated from Natural / Synthetic / Biological / Marine / Gene / Protein etc.,) in a suitable Dosage form with relation to targeted optimum delivery, disposition, including the safe and efficient clinical response.
The domain extends from studies of the physicochemical properties of drugs and related molecules to investigations of the mechanisms of physiological processes affecting drug delivery and therapeutic effectiveness. Pharmaceutics is an interdisciplinary field of research, expanding into areas other than Pharmacy such as computer science, biotechnology, cell and molecular biology, and biomedical engineering.
Pharmaceutics plays a major role in all the core areas in the pharmaceutical industry from pre-formulation pilot studies, scale-up and manufacture, evaluation, labelling and packaging, etc., till the entry of new chemical entity (NDA/ANDA) by reaching the product successfully into the market for the patient in the health care system.
International Pharmaceutical Federation sponsored by Dr. S. Mohan, Principal, for one month Clinical Training from 23 July to 17 August, 2018 at Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorodo, USA. The objective of this training was to acquire knowledge on the latest mechanisms in the field of advanced clinical pharmacy.
