Five Days National level Online Faculty Development Program – 22nd to 26th April 2024

The Department of Pharmacology, Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, has organized five days’ National level online faculty development program with the theme entitled “Pharmacy Teaching, Learning and Research: Trends and Tools” through Google meet platform during 22nd and 26th April 2024 in association with Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India. Dr. V. Sankar, President-Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India – Tamil Nadu Branch, Vice Principal, PSG College of Pharmacy was the Chief Guest of the event, inaugurated the FDP. Dr. S. Mohan, Principal, Karpagam College of Pharmacy, was the convener, delivered Presidential address. The Organizing Secretary Dr. A. Madeswaran, delivered the theme of this FDP.

Session I: Dr. Praveen T. Krishnamurthy, Professor and Head, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty delivered his expertise talk on “Innovative Teaching and Learning Methods for Improved Student Understanding”.

Session II: Dr. S. Mohan, Principal, Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, delivered lecture on “Navigating the accreditation Journey: Understanding the Process and Requirements”.

Session III:  “Active learning strategies in pharmacy practice education” was delivered by Dr. Mohanraj Rathinavelu, Associate Professor, Saveetha College of Pharmacy, Chennai.

Session IV: Dr. A. S. Manjula Devi, Associate Professor, College of Pharmacy, SRIPMS, Coimbatore delivered talk on “Flipped Classroom: A pedagogical prescription for active learning in Pharmacy Practice”

Session V: “Cosmetic assessment as per Global Regulations for Different regions” was presented by Mr. Pradeep kumar, Associate Manager, ClinChoice Pvt Ltd, Telangana.

Session VI: Dr. S. Sriram, Professor and Head, College of Pharmacy, SRIPMS, Coimbatore presented on “Problem Based Learning: an effective tool in teaching methodology”

Session VII: “Crafting a comprehensive approach: Guidelines for Research Publications” was delivered by Dr. A. Madeswaran, Professor and Head, Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore.

Session VIII: Dr. Parasuraman. P, Assistant Professor, M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru was presented on “Future of computational drug design education: What we need to know”.

In the Valedictory Session, Dr. R. Sambath Kumar, Secretary, APTI-Tamil Nadu Branch, Principal, The Erode College of Pharmacy has given the valedictory address. Dr. S. Mohan, Convener, Principal, Karpagam College of Pharmacy presented the presidential address. In this online national five days FDP, 68 active delegates were participated from 30 different institutions across the India. Organizing committee expressed their sincere thanks to APTI Tamil Nadu state branch officials for their financial support and association.
